Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope / R2-D2

Item Code: #18690

Status: SOLD

This R2-D2 Droid was professionally built in 2009 by Al Eisenmann, Union I.A.T.S.I. Prop Master in the film industry and fully approved by LucasFilm and Disney to be screen used in:

  • Dancing with the Stars with Billy Dee Williams
  • Disney's TV show "Ant Farm"
  • The cover and inside pages of Wired Magazine's special "Star Wars" March 2013 issue

This very special full sized R2-D2 stands an impressive 41" tall x 23" wide x 26" deep and features unique weathering and details that match exactly on screen for these productions. R2-D2 lights up, the dome spins and his wheels allow for ease in moving him, but the remote controlled mechanics were removed for another production. These can be replaced if desired for the new owner at an additional cost and can be discussed. The inside of a removable panel has been autographed by Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) and Ray Park (Darth Maul) with the following inscriptions.

  • Hey Al, What a pleasure it was to meet & work with you! Best to you, Zadrina, Hannah & Stone! Forcefully Yours, Mark Hamill
  • Hey Al, Thank you thank you for your help with the birthday boys party. - The force is with you. Ray Park. Darth Maul 2010

This is a very rare one-of-a-kind R2-D2 and could possibly be the only LucasFilm approved/screen used droid in private hands... This is the droid you're looking for.

NOTE: The video to the right shows this same R2-D2 unit a few years ago when it had all of it's mechanics in place. When fully remote controlled, the unit was able to drive remotely, spin the dome remotely, and move his front two utility arms remotely. These can be replaced if desired for the new owner at an additional cost by the original builder, please contact us.
